This fall, we were very proud to work with a terrific group here in The District known as DC Scores. The Organization works with elementary and middle school students in after school programs that use soccer, poetry, and service learning to make a real difference in kids’ lives. Our mission was to create a compelling video for an annual event that captured the essence and emotion of the project and promoted support from the viewers. Armed with our cameras and curiosity, we began the search for the meaning of the words ‘Building Teams. Changing Lives.’ According to Executive Director, Amy Nakamoto “We had a very specific video need for an important event and they were true partners in helping us understand what will resonate from a film quality perspective and yet were amenable to our requests on important specifics.”
After the initial meeting, we proposed the idea of using three students to represent each of the three areas of the DC Scores experience. We filmed practice, games, and class and conducted interviews with the students, support staff and parents. Once we had all the material we needed, we created a story using only the voices we captured as well as poetry by the students. According to Nakamoto, “the final product was an amazingly done piece that serves the exact need we were going for. Specifically, Automatic Sports’ attentiveness to us as clients was above and beyond and we trusted them implicitly as experts in their field. “We were extremely happy with them and would recommend them to anybody.
A project like this can become more than just a job and we are extremely happy with the results and proud of our work for such a wonderful group. DC Scores is making a real difference! Check out their website and please consider supporting this very worthy cause.
One of the biggest challenges facing coaches at both the high school and college level is attracting new and promising players. Ask any coach of any sport, boys or girls, and they will tell you what a grind recruiting can be. The good news? Automatic Sports can help! Recently we began working with teams and athletic departments to create compelling and engaging videos that can be sent to potential players and their parents with the click of a mouse – putting your program foremost in a young man or woman’s mind when it comes to high school or college choice. We feel that not only are these videos a great way to explain and promote a program’s potential, but that they convey a feeling of emotion that can attract talent in a way that a phone call, visit, or letter simply cannot muster. Additionally, our marketing videos can be used to drum up alumni and parent support when it comes to fundraising so coaches and schools know that their money is being well spent, or as we like to think of it, ‘invested’ in a program. The process of having a marketing video done is easy and we work it into your existing schedule and take advantage of events, games, and a programs greatest assets to do something that seamless and portrays the program in an honest and endearing light. It has been a busy fall for the Automatic crew, having taped literally hundreds of games and edited dozens of highlights. We continued our strong relationships with our partners and started new ones with athletic departments, training facilities and more. This fall our expert videographers taped football, field hockey, boys and girls soccer, boy’s and girls lacrosse, and even a power-puff football game. Working with the athletes, coaches, and their parents is an extremely rewarding experience. We were lucky to work with Headfirst all summer (see previous news) and into the fall and were sorry to see the weather force an end to baseball season. We also continued a strong partnership with our friends at Madlax and orchestrated a 3-camera high-definition shoot of their all-star game at Catholic University on Nov. 19th to benefit Winners Lacrosse. Champions Field House and the Jackals club teams also continue to be a pleasure to work with as we find new ways to capture and share the action from their many lacrosse and field hockey teams. Champions FH is a great facility and we love shooting up there! Finally, we worked with many high schools to assist the coaches as they continue to use video to give them an edge over the competition. Specifically, Episcopal High School, Calvin Cooldige Senior HS, and Academy of the Holy Cross were a big part of our fall and thanks to them for their support. We enjoyed working with everyone and invite you to check out our special message for the holidays. Thanks!Read More
Recently, Automatic Sports added a tapeless workflow option to their services, giving coaches the ability to significantly speed up the process of digitizing footage, creating game DVDs and analyzing a game. An entire football game can now be available on your computer five minutes after an Automatic Sports videographer hands you a compact flash card from one of our recording devices. The process is effective, easy, and extremely fast. Video is stored as data on a small flash card that acts just like a tape, but can be easily stored, erased, and transferred. So far this fall, we have shot dozens of games this way and the coaches are amazed by how fast everything works. We can even shoot in HD to this format! When a team combines this efficiency with our quality videography, they give themselves the tools to take their season to the next level. Call or email for more detailsRead More
With fall just around the corner, our crews are hitting the gridiron for another action-packed football season. Several local teams have signed up for professional game films by Automatic Sports. With games available on tape, DVD, or straight to a file-based format, they head into the fall with the ability to watch their games in a format that gives them an edge over the competition. On top of that, they know that their footage will be shot to precise and professional standards. Once the season is over, the players will benefit from our services as they tackle the college recruiting process. With attention-grabbing highlight packages and online player profile pages, the student-athletes will have what it takes to turn a coaches head and get a shot at the college of their dreams. AND the best part? We still have crews available to cover your team if you are not already on the bandwagon! The crew at Automatic Sports wishes all a safe and successful fall athletic season.Read More
